Hi Folks… This, our penultimate newsletter, takes us into the emotion of driving. The emotion that most negatively impacts on our interaction with other road users is that of anger. More commonly referred to as Road Rage, this emotion has the capacity to forever change our lives and adversely affect our capacity to deal with the challenges of driving. While not wishing to over simplify the subject we believe it would be worthwhile – during the build up to the festive season, which inevitably brings with it crowded roads and selfish drivers - to take cognizance of some of the causes ( provided by authorities in various parts of the world ) that may be responsible for someone reacting to US. Please note we are focussing on what we can change to reduce the likelihood of US becoming victims. Road rage is more likely to occur on crowded roads, rushing and impatience can cause one driver to react angrily towards another – not only Taxi’s. Here are a few simple tips, to help your fleet drivers prevent dangerous road rage situations: Lastly, if you have a few moments spare feel free to take the ANGER TEST that is available on line courtesy of the British Association of Anger Management. Quite possibly this may give you a “heads up” on what could trigger your emotions http://www.beatinganger.com/free-anger-test http://advanceddriving.co.za |
