5 Steps to Keep your Child Safe
26 July 2012 - By Eugene Herbert - The RAC Group
Hi Folks… We sometimes need to see what we don’t have in order to appreciate that which we do. While most parents actively engage in activities that would protect and ensure the safety of their children there are those who apparently couldn’t care less – those who we encounter that are happy to have their child stand on the seat of a vehicle. Not only could they hurt themselves by falling, but more significantly they could become a dangerous projectile if the driver stops suddenly. At 60 kph the bodies mass is accelerated up to 30 times its normal amount. Can you imagine that connecting with the dashboard, windscreen or even another human being? SHAME ON YOU DRIVERS WHO DON’T BUCKLE UP YOUR CHILD. IT MAY NOT WORRY YOU BUT IT CERTAINLY GIVES OTHER CONCERNED DRIVERS SOME ANXIOUS MOMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!! Spare a thought for those who apparently care more for your child than what you do. Back to appreciation. In this article is a picture of a family commuting and who, simply by virtue of the fact that they have little choice as to transport, are taking a chance with their child’s life. If you think this was bad you should see the TUK – TUK (a 3 wheeled transporter designed for 4) with 15 passengers. That picture depicts a family who have little choice – we on the other hand do. Below are some tips on what we should do to ensure that not only do we have the right equipment to secure our children correctly but also take steps to see that we “know how” to use that equipment correctly. Till next time - Buckle up and secure your child is as well http://advanceddriving.co.za |
